JDU led Government wins trust vote, BJP walks out

The new JDU led government in Bihar won the trust vote in the State Assembly on May 23. BJP MLAs walked out before the confidence motion moved by 68 year old Jitan Ram Manjhi, the new Chief Minister was put to vote..

In the state Assembly, whose effective strength presently is 236, the JDU led got the support of 145 MLAs.

Besides 117 JD(U) MLAs, 21 of the RJD, four of the Congress, 1 of CPI and 2 Independents voted in favour of the trust motion. 

Residents of Bihar and citizens across the country waited to verify BJP's repeated claim of having support of some 50 JDU MLAs instead of demonstrating it the 88 BJP MLAs staged walkout.
