JD(U) MLAs re-elect Nitish Kumar as their leader, BJP seeks parade of JDU MLAs

JD(U) leader and Bihar agriculture minister, Narendra Singh proposed the name of Nitish Kumar as party leader in the State Assembly on May 18. JD(U) MLAs chose Kumar as their leader and wanted him to withdraw his resignation.  Kumar has sought time to think about it.

Meanwhile, Sushil Modi, the leader of the opposition in the Bihar Legislative Council met Governor of Bihar  Governor along with a delegation of BJP leaders demanding parade of all the MLAs of the JD(U) in case it planned to form the government.

Sushil Modi who has claimed that 50 JD-U MLAs worked for its victory of BJP in the polls are with him. During his meeting the Governor, Sushil Modi could have paraded those 50 JD-U MLAs who are keen to be with BJP. At least the list, he could have shared the names of these 50 MLAs with the media or held a press conference with these JDU MLAs. In absence of any such step, Sushil Modi's claim does not inspire confidence in him.

In a statement an hour ago, Sushil Modi has admitted that all dissident MLAs have fallen in line behind Nitish Kumar.
