It is reported that the Govt. of India have issued two gazette notifications. It is mentioned that as per Passport Act 1920 & Foreigners Act, 1946, those people have entered into India illegally, they will not be treated as 'illegal migrants. They can stay in India, police will not arrest them. Good. But what about Citizenship ? Nothing. What about the Clause 2(1)(b) of 'The Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2003. BJP Govt. is silent on this point, because the Act was the production of BJP regime. Unless and until the Clause of the said Act is intact, nothing good can be expected. Why notification or Govt. order or ordinance ? Why not Bill / Act ? This move of the Govt. of India is almost nothing to the refugees.
