Acting Secretary General condemns the unlawful arrests of Gazipur district party activists from an ordinary tea party program

Acting Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has issued the following statement on 12th June, 2015 protesting and condemning the unlawful arrest of 34 Jamaat-Shibir activists including Gazipur city Jamaat Secretary Khairul Hasan from a tea party program held in a Chinese restaurant of Gazipur on 11th June.
"The law enforcers have arrested 34 Jamaat-Shibir activists including Gazipur city Jamaat Secretary Khairul Hasan from a tea party program held in a Chinese restaurant of Gazipur on 11th June unlawfully. These innocent party leaders and activists have been arrested to attain ill political interest. I am condemning these tortures and repressions. Besides, I am gainsaying a report quoting the Officer in charge of Joydebpur police station Khodokar Rezaul Hasan Reza, published in several media titled "34 Jamaat-Shibir workers have been arrested from a secret meeting in Gazipur along with 25 petrol bombs and anti government leaflets." In this regard, our clear view is, a tea party was arranged in a Chinese restaurant of Gazipur on 11th June night. It was not a secret meet at all. So the claim of recovering 25 petrol bombs and anti government leaflets from that meet is totally bogus and concocted. This ill campaign has been carried out just to implicate the Jamaat-Shibir workers with the false and politically motivated case. But the people would not be confused with such baseless propaganda against the innocent dissident activists.
I am calling upon the authorities concerned to stop ill campaign and to release all the detained leaders and activists including Gazipur city Jamaat Secretary Khairul Hasan immediately.

Central Executive Committee member of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former lawmaker Hamidur Rahman Azad has issued the following statement on 12th June, 2015 protesting and gainsaying the address of former President and the chairperson of Bikalpadhara Dr. A Q M Badruddoza Chowdhury titled 'Suggestion to leave Jamaat' published in various online news portals.
"A news titled 'Suggestion to leave Jamaat' quoting the address of former President and the chairperson of Bikalpadhara Dr. A Q M Badruddoza Chowdhury published in various online news portals has drawn our attention. We vehemently condemn such insensible address.
The 20 party alliances have been formed to restore democracy and to secure the voting rights of the people. Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami is a major partner of this alliance. Each and every alliance partner has distractive political strategies and programs. So the question of dependency of a party upon another is totally impractical. 20 party alliances are declaring and observing programs altogether.
The countrymen are by the side of the 20 party alliances. So giving any suggestion to any party to give up the company of another party is nothing but an ill effort to create division among the alliance as a whole. Whose agenda is going to be implemented by Dr. A Q M Badruddoza Chowdhury

'কার এজেন্ডা বাস্তবায়ন করতে চান' বিকল্পধারা বাংলাদেশের প্রেসিডেন্ট ও সাবেক রাষ্ট্রপতি অধ্যাপক ডা. একিউএম বদরুদ্দোজা চৌধুরীর প্রতি প্রশ্ন রেখেছেন জামায়াতের নির্বাহী পরিষদের সদস্য ও সাবেক এমপি হামিদুর রহমান আযাদ।
শুক্রবার গণমধ্যমে পাঠানো এক সংবাদ বিজ্ঞপ্তিতে এ প্রশ্ন রখেন।
'বিএনপি এখন জিয়াউর রহমানের আদর্শের মধ্যে নেই। তারা এখন তৃতীয় স্টেজের রাজনীতি করছে। তাদের রাজনীতি এখন সম্পূর্ণ জামায়াত নির্ভর' শুক্রবার হোটেল সোনারগাাঁয়ে এক প্রকাশনা উৎসবে দেয়া বদরুদ্দোজা চৌধুরীর এমন বক্তৃব্যের নিন্দা ও প্রতিবাদ জানিয়ে ওই সংবাদ বিজ্ঞপ্তি পাঠান হামিদুর রহমান আযাদ।
এতে তিনি বলেন, বিকল্পধারা বাংলাদেশের প্রেসিডেন্ট ও সাবেক রাষ্ট্রপতি অধ্যাপক ডা. একিউএম বদরুদ্দোজা চৌধুরীর 'জামায়াত ছাড়ার পরামর্শ' শিরোনামে কয়েকটি অনলাইন পত্রিকায় আজ শুক্রবার প্রকাশিত প্রতিবেদনের প্রতি আমাদের দৃষ্টি আকৃষ্ট হয়েছে। আমরা তার এ বক্তব্যের তীব্র নিন্দা ও প্রতিবাদ জানাচ্ছি।
জনগণের ভোটাধিকার বহাল ও গণতন্ত্র পুনরুদ্ধারসহ জাতীয় প্রয়োজনে ২০ দলীয় জোট গঠিত হয়েছে। বাংলাদেশ জামায়াতে ইসলামী এ জোটের একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ শরীক দল। ২০ দলীয় জোটের শরীক সকল দলেরই নিজস্ব আদর্শ ও কর্মসূচি রয়েছে। কাজেই এখানে এক দলের ওপর অন্য দলের নির্ভরশীলতার প্রশ্ন সম্পূর্ণ অবান্তর। ২০ দলীয় জোট একসাথে কর্মসূচি ঘোষণা করছে এবং তা পালন করছে বলে উল্লেখ করা হয়।
দেশের জনগণ ২০ দলীয় জোটের সঙ্গে রয়েছে। সুতরাং ২০ দলীয় জোটের শরীক কোন দলকে অপর দলের সঙ্গ ছাড়ার পরামর্শ প্রদান মূলতঃ ২০ দলীয় জোট ভাঙ্গারই পরামর্শ দান। এ পরামর্শ দিয়ে বি.চৌধুরী কার এজেন্ডা বাস্তবায়ন করতে চান।
