Janata Dal United (JD(U)) President Sharad Yadav was elected unopposed to the Rajya Sabha from Bihar on June 12. Yadav is in Patna. Parliamentary Affairs minister Shrawan Kumar received Yadav's certificate of election on his behalf.
Assembly Secretary Hareram Mukhiya declared Sharad Yadav elected
unopposed. Mukhiya is returning officer
for the three RS seats in Bihar.
For the other two seats JD(U)) official candidates Pawan
K Varma and Gulam Rasool Balyawi are facing challenge from the independents. The voting for these seats would take
place on June 19, 2014.
