Celebration of
International Day of The World's Indigenous People
On 9th of August, we have celebrated "INTERNATIONAL DAY OF THE WORLD'S INDIGENOUS PEOPLE" at Sushunia Hill, Bankura. Thousand people from different indigenous groups participated in this auspicious day and gave their salute to the Social Reformers and radicalists.
Government of India still not ready to recognize the people of India as indigenous tough they have signed and promised to fulfill the Millennium Goals in 2000 ad.
The International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples was first introduced by the General Assembly of the United Nations in December 1994. From 2005 to 2015 the decade was announced with the theme of "A Decade for Action and Dignity". The world indigenous people are encouraged to celebrate the day with in their traditional way. It was declared that the nation will protect the indigenous communities and assured their participation with in for the better world.
