In terms of resolution of the Full Court of Supreme Court of India dated April 1, 2025, wherein, it was resolved that judges should make a declaration of their assets on assuming office and whenever any acquisition of a substantial nature is made, to the Chief Justice of India. This also includes declaration(s) by the Chief Justice of India. It was also resolved that placing the declaration of assets on the Supreme Court website will be mandatory.

Earlier, the Court had issued a press release dated May 5, 2025, wherein, it stated that it has placed the complete process of appointments to the High Courts and Supreme Court including the role assigned to the High Court Collegium, the role and inputs received from the State Governments, Government of India, and consideration by the Supreme Court Collegium, on its website for knowledge and awareness of the public. The proposals approved by the Supreme Court Collegium for appointments as High Court Judges during the period November 9, 2022 to May 5, 2025, including the names, High Court, source – whether from Service or Bar, date of recommendation by the Supreme Court Collegium, date of notification by Department of Justice, date of appointment, special category (SC/ST/OBC/Minority/Woman), and whether the candidate is related to any sitting or retired High Court/Supreme Court Judge, were also uploaded on the Supreme Court website.
The Full Court had decided on April 1, 2025 that the statement of assets of the judges of the Court, shall be placed in the public domain by uploading the same on the website of the Court. Statements of assets of Judges which were received have been uploaded. The release reads:"Statement of assets of other Judges will be uploaded as and when the current statement of assets is received."
Now that 23 out of 34 Supreme Court judges have declared their assets, it paves way for remaining 11 Supreme Court judges and 847 judges of 25 High Court to declare their assets.
