17 IAS, IPS officers from Bihar are on foreign vacations, Dainik Bhaskar deletes its own report

17 IAS and IPS officers from Bihar are on foreign vacations, mostly in the US and Indonesia. Some have taken leave for up to 90 days, reported Dainik Bhaskar but it felt compelled to delete the video. https://x.com/DainikBhaskar/status/2005692792677482778/video/1

Nine out of these officials are on vacation without their wives.

Twitteratti say, "Extended foreign leaves for Bihar officers amid ongoing state issues point to misplaced priorities in public service. These trips drain resources meant for real development into personal escapes. Genuine progress comes from accountability."

There is no doubt that long leaves are allowed under the pre-existing rules. But can any trained journalist claim that the fact about presence of these officials in foreign countries is not newsworthy.

Prosenjit Datta, the author of Will India Get Rich Before It Turns 100? and former editor of BusinessWorld and Business Today who has also worked with the Economic Times and Business Standard chas underlined it's worth as "news" by tweeting it. Datta is a columnist for Business Standard and Moneycontrol

Why is journalism of courage becoming extinct? Is it because of dependence on advertisements from the government?
